Meatspace: An Evening With the Funchilde
I got an email on Thursday from Dia saying she was in town and could I meet up and I was all “Hell yeah!”
Dia is a relatively old school blog friend. Or, at least, it seems that way. I had not, until yesterday, actually met her. So Missy and I moseyed on downtown and met up with Dia at the super swanky Graves 601 Hotel. (Aside: We might have to do a staycation weekend there. It’s obscenely nice.)
So we found Dia in the fourth floor bar, snagged a table in the adjacent restaurant, and talked and talked and talked and talked until the restaurant closed and our south-of-France-bred waiter Daniel rolled up the carpet.
Wow.
Y’all, Dia is all that and a vegan cupcake.
This is the second weekend in a row that I’ve found myself in the company of insanely smart and interesting women. It gives me tingles.
Thank you, Dia, for a wonderful evening. *mwah*
I realized that with the crazy number of blogs I try to follow and the prominence that Twitter has for me, posting to a personal blog and having conversations in the comments is no longer as intimate a mode of communication as it used to be for me. I was reminded last night that people who care about me read this blog and remember things I say and by neglecting this blog I, in a way, neglect myself.

Heck, that would give me tingles, were I so fortunate. :)
