In the ultimate worst-to-first story, the Detroit Shock handled the Sparks to win the WNBA Championship in front of a WNBA record crowd of 22,076.
- Ruth Riley was named the series MVP. She matched up so well against Lisa Leslie on offense and on defense. She scored 27 points in this game and averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds for the series.
- The Palace of Auburn Hills has the Bill of Rights on the wall by the east entrance ticket windows.
- Swin Cash is totally overrated. She likes to shake and bake and is out of control a lot.
- Introducing the team.
- Black folks are so ghetto.
- Deanna Nolan nailed a gorgeous three-pointer to put the Shock up for good in the final minutes.
- Pyrotechnics!
- Elaine Powell is totally underrated.
- Neither Lisa Leslie nor Sparks coach Michael Cooper were very gracious in the post game press conference.
- Confetti!
- I haven’t had this much fun at a sporting event in a long time. This was a perfect basketball game. We led most of the way but went down near the end and had to pull it out. It was physical and the refs let them play, but it didn’t get too out of hand. Lots of scoring but not lacking in defense. Good tempo. Great time.
- I bought a shirt.
